Grant Application
GRANTS
Grant proposals will be evaluated on the following abilities:
Humanely trap cats and release them back into their colonies. Must have a mindset that colony cats can live a happy life when cared for.
Ensure all cats are S/N, and receive initial vaccines. FIV and FeLV testing need not be routinely conducted unless medically necessary. Ensure S/N occurs before or concurrent with any adoptions;
We prefer to use www.catstats.org data to monitor the colonies we help. Catstats includes colony name and location, # of cats at start of colony vs. current, and # S/N. The app is administered confidentially and paid for by LBCCF. This does not preclude caretakers from maintaining their own records.
Trappers should have a minimum of 2 years experience or be willing to take training and be mentored by an experienced trapper. Prefered training would include 2-hour online TNR Certificate course from Community Cats podcast or equivalent as well as continuing education, as recommended by LBCCF;
Respond to communication with LBCCF (phone, email, text) promptly; and
Provide detailed expense accounting, as necessary to maintain LBCCF non-profit status with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
